Here are some things I’ve already done

Condado Tacos

At Condado Tacos, a growing build your own taco concept, I currently am their Diversity & Inclusion Specialist.

In this role I have been able to collaborate with an external consulting firm to develop training and learning aids for internal distribution.

Conducted an internal diversity audit of our current workforce, analyzed the data and created a presentation shared internally and with leadership. I also manage the tracking of other diversity and inclusion goals and metrics as well as the budget.

I’ve worked cross-functionally to lead D&I programs and activations.

Additionally, my work allows me to build relationships with local organizations and nonprofits and allocate funds to related projects.

JOANN

Post-grad I interned with JOANN to work on their Diversity & Inclusion team for the summer.

As part of the summer internship program I was tasked with developing a workplace peer-mentorship and D&I-specific mentorship programs to boost company-wide inclusivity.

With the guidance of my manager I successfully carried out my projects from beginning to end with the support and collaboration of cross-functional partners across the business.

Another big project I was responsible for was developing and implementing a dedicated internal diversity and inclusion communications website via Microsoft SharePoint.

I also supported various other projects by providing research and written copy.

L Brands

For nearly two years I worked as the External Communications Intern at L Brands, the parent company to Victoria’s Secret, Pink and Bath and Body Works.

A large portion of my work here involved using a social listening tool called Netbase to monitor social networks, blogs, message boards, etc for L Brands related issues, anticipated issues and trends.

Also, I engaged externally with publications, reporters and customers by managing the media line which required coordination to deliver timely and informative responses.

Relatedly, I managed the external communications inbox. I kept the inbox organized and responded to some messages, while others were escalated to the appropriate team.

For special projects, I was often responsible for conducting extensive research on topics and updating communication on website, drafting presentation slide decks and articles for internal teams.

Tokfluence

At Tokfluence, a start-up TikTok influencer campaign management tool, I worked as an unpaid Content Specialist Intern. I focused on researching topics and creating written articles, blogs, pamphlets and short-form social media posts.

For blogs and articles, I typically created my own visual elements. However, I often worked cross functionally with other teams to manage the content development process of my projects, as well as ensure a cohesive brand message across all platforms.

I reported directly to the company CEO who offered me meaningful feedback to improve my work throughout my time there.
